Hello.
We here at the Unincorporated have been keenly aware of how much music we enjoy on TV, particularly little 30 second nuggets in frequently repeated commercials. We decided to do a feature on this, posting songs we enjoy from ads past and present.
To start it off are 2 car commercial ads, both intriguing in there own way. Let's not associate the product, just the music. Interestingly both are covers, albeit moderately obscure ones.
Let Your Love Flow - Petra Haden
Major Tom - Shiny Toy Guns
Enjoy.

It's a Shame About GM
Hello.
We here at the Unincorporated are not surprised at the failure of the American automobile industry. We are also not surprised that they are being sued by Evan Dando of the Lemonheads. At Headquarters we were shocked a the similarities in the music between the "alternative" era anthem and the music utilized to sell the Buick Lucerne (what Tiger's not enough?).
For Yinz comparison:
It's a Shame About Ray - The Lemonheads
Oh and lest we forget, here's the whole Viva La Vida controversy.
Thoughts?
Enjoy.

A View from Our Road
Hello.
Here's a photo we took the other day from down the road.

Sort of related (at least about our state) is this great song from Casiotone for the Painfully Alone.
Nashville Parthenon - Casiotone for the Painfully Alone
Enjoy.

Basketball Songs
Hello.
We here at Unincorporated headquarters are in the process of watching Game 2 of the NBA Finals. We watched most of the Game 1 massacre much to our chagrin. We find Kobe Bryant to be one of the most loathsome characters in professional sports, or at least one of such undeniable talent. The reason we can't stand Kobe is that there is no sense of humility in his demeanor, just freakin' attitude. Just look at Mr. Bryant, a player the NBA feels compelled to crown amongst the greatest players of all time, to someone who has more titles and understands the team aspect of the game, Tim Duncan.
Anyways, Kobe hating aside the Playoffs have been very entertaining this year. In honor of this we're posting some "basketball related music."
First off, this great little ditty from Rogue Wave.
Basketball - Rogue Wave
Remember Pearl Jam? Well, they released this song back in the Dennis Rodman era as a tribute to him.
Black, Red, Yellow - Pearl Jam
Deerhoof are totally wild. This song is about Basketball, or possibly a person name Basket Ball, or may a rabbit.
Basket Ball Get Your Groove Back
Here's to Orlando and the Penguins, but things don't look great for either right now.
Enjoy.

May Redux: Sharon Van Etten
Hello.
Well, it's now June, so starts May Redux. Why change this pattern of procrastination when it works so well?
Here's a little acoustic ditty from Sharon Van Etten. Good driving music.
